CNN —It feels weird to begin a complimentary piece about Anne Hathaway by saying I didn’t especially enjoy her latest movie, but here goes. India’s Supreme Court increased marital consent from the age of 15 to 18 in a landmark judgement in 2017. The woman also accused her in-laws of mental and physical harassment “on account of nonfulfilment of demand of dowry,” the court order said. At least 18 of those women reported marital rape to the police, including 10 women who alleged rape by a former partner or husband. Four women were explicitly told by police that they could not do anything as marital rape was not a crime, the report said.

Michael Longfellow played a talk show host who welcomed parents played by Heidi Gardner, Mikey Day and Kenan Thompson. Longfellow remarked that it’s been a worrisome time on university campuses throughout the country, and sought comment from his guests. While Gardner and Day’s characters expressed concerns about their children’s activities in the protests against Israel’s war against Hamas, Thompson said he was supportive of the efforts. At Columbia University on Tuesday, dozens of protesters entered the university’s Hamilton Hall and barricaded themselves inside before the institution asked for the New York City Police Department’s assistance. A total of 282 people were arrested at the pro-Palestinian protests at Columbia as well as The City College of New York, according to the NYPD.

In one lunar region, Japan’s “Moon Sniper” mission has beaten the odds and survived three long, frigid lunar nights since its sideways landing on January 19. The Tianwen-2 mission will visit the space rock later this decade. But first, China has set its sights on returning to the moon’s “hidden side.”An illustration depicts the far side of the moon, with Earth behind it. Since the Chang’e 4 mission in 2019, China remains the only country to have landed on the moon’s far side, sometimes called the “dark side” of the moon. Scientists hope that returning samples from the far side could solve some of the biggest remaining lunar mysteries, including the moon’s true origin.

CNN —In her 2024 Netflix special “Have It All,” stand-up comedian Taylor Tomlinson has a bit about coming out as bisexual. It can sour otherwise happy events, such as Pride Month in June or Bi Visibility Day in September. I attended my first Pride events, ranging from campus events in 2014 to local parades in 2019, as the straight person I was pretending to be. I continued second-guessing myself, so much so that I could hardly enjoy Pride events. It’s the piece I was missing at my early Pride events, when I was too busy quantifying my behavior and assuming I came up short.
